The Joup Friday Album: Twin Peaks Season 2 OST

00 Twin Peaks Season Two (And More)At 12:41 AM LA time I’m really pushing the definition of the “Friday Album” but what the hell, Friday is a day meant to be lived long into the wee hours, so here’s a great way to wind into the small hours…

Twin Peaks: The Return ended last week and I’ve been living off the inertia from three solid months of my life spent around my favorite fiction of all time. Today the new season’s Soundtrack and Score were released and being that I pre-ordered them they were waiting for me upon returning home from work. I’ve been picking at them throughout the rest of the day, and it got me thinking about the Season Two Soundtrack that came out ten years ago in ’07. The music of Twin Peaks is an integral part, especially Angelo Badalamenti’s scoring. Since the original series Lynch has become quite the musician himself, so The Return’s full aural aspect is considerably broader than the original, however there’s really something to be said for the timeless majesty of Badalamenti’s compositions and just how much character that leant to the characters of the show, most especially the actual town.

As we slip into the night let the dark and oft eerie sounds of Twin Peaks draw a cover of stars over your head and sing you to sleep with grandeur, paranoia and mystery.

Back to you Katie!
