Endless Loop: Something Happened to Me Yesterday

rollingstonesHave you ever had one of those songs that gets stuck in your head for days…weeks…years? Sure you have. These are the songs that always make the cut. The songs on repeat. We all have them. I have a ton. Welcome back to Endless Loop.

“Something Happened to Me Yesterday” by The Rolling Stones

On April 11th, my dad will have been dead for ten years.  That’s a really odd thing to consider, as it feels so long ago, but also like this ever-present thing, an event I’d rather not have define my life, yet one that holds a permanent position within my psyche nonetheless.  It’s like it’s always just on the periphery.  And there are a million different things that can make me think of him every single day.

The Joup Friday Album – Fantastic Mr. Fox OST

617wv2bZRTL._SX466_My very dear, fellow Joupers:

The indications are very strong that we shall move in a few days – perhaps tonight. Lest I should not be able to write you again, I feel impelled to write lines that may fall under your eye when Thanksgiving should be no more.

Tis hard to see the mighty prancing of reindeer, trampling the turkeys and pilgrim hats beneath their merciless feet. No cranberry or pumpkin to administer relief in that hour the most sad in the history of holiday cheer. O the holiday cheer. O the horrors premature twinkling lights and Black Friday sales. Truly it may be considered the most cruel and awful scourge which can befall the period between Halloween and Christmas. Heaven grant there may be an end soon.

The Joup Friday Album: Ronnie Wood – I’ve Got My Own Album To Do

Ronnie Wood is a celebrated guitarist best known for his work as a bass guitarist and songwriter with The Jeff Beck group, vocalist and guitarist for The Faces and – finally – landing his dream job playing guitar and singing with The Rolling Stones (his favorite band). Ronnie Wood is a known figure in the world of rock and roll but is a very underappreciated songwriter and guitarist. Cry a river for Ronnie, right? Who cares? I do!

Some Thoughts on The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones that have toured the world on a seemingly continuous basis since… oh about 1983 are NOT The Rolling Stones.

Well, they are and they aren’t. Let me attempt to explain.
